If you want to edit photos which are located in shared albums, then you can save those photos to Photos Library. To do so, you can import photos from a shared album into your Photos Library. Once you have imported photos to Photos Library, you can make edits, share the updated photos and add them to your albums and projects.

  1. Open 'Photos' app on your Mac.
  2. Click 'Shared' button located at the toolbar.
  3. Double-click the shared album.
  4. Select the photos which you want to save.
  5. Control-click a selected photo and choose 'Import' option.
  6. You will see your imported photos in the 'Last Import' album.
  7. Click 'Albums' button.
  8. Double-click the 'Last Import' album to open it.
  9. Select the imported photos and click '+' icon located at the toolbar.
  10. Choose the album where you want to add the photos.
  11. This way you can save photos from shared albums to your Photos library.
