Skullduggery Written Walkthrough
Travel to Skullduggery island on your map and next drop down the rope to Fort Ridley, one of many small islands scattered about in the ocean. To begin, travel through the initial area and dash across the bridge into the next area. Once you cross over the bridge, go down beneath it and head back to the left where you’ll find a gold doubloon.
Go back up and over the bridge to the left. Then run over to the General Store and use a doubloon in your backpack to obtain a bag of chicken feed from the person on the inside.
Give the feed to the man with the chickens. He’ll be so delighted that he can feed his chickens now that he will give you one of them as thanks for the feed. Keep moving to the right and jump up the rocky hill. Then run past the house to the edge and speak with the woman standing there. Next go back up the hill and enter the Governor’s house. There are two men over by the fireplace on the right. Speak to them and use the blue candle from your backpack to make the invisible parts of the document appear. The Governor will tell you about the Treasure Map and the need to defeat Captain Crawfish the pirate. Now leave the mansion and run all the way to the left to where the fort tower is. Go up to the top and use the telescope up there. Move it around until you see a small raft on the horizon. Use the broken mirror to signal the raft which will sail into the pier. A scruffy looking guy appears and it turns out he is the long-lost husband of the woman you met on the beach.
He then gives you what’s left of his ship and you’ll find that you’ve already got a two-person crew ready to join you. Click on your small ship to Embark and then go to Dragon Cove, which is up and to the left of the main island. Avoid sea creatures, and especially pirate ships, but try to pick up salvage items in the water. You’ll soon arrive at Dragon Cove. Click on the dock and disembark. To find the map piece, go to the water’s edge and stand on the sunken statue to reveal a Mallet. Shove the fisherman who is sitting on the wooden crate all the way to the right, past the gong. Then use the mallet in your backpack to hit the gong. This will send fish up for the old man to catch, and he will give you the map piece.
Even though the shipbuilder and the crew member who can fix ships are here, you probably don’t have enough money yet so skip them for now. New crew members and upgraded ships cost thousands of doubloons and you need to earn more before you can start upgrading or adding to the crew. You can buy a small cargo with your doubloons, preferably Silk which is cheap here but more valuable elsewhere.
Now get back on your ship and sail for Bouffant Bay, the island in the top-right corner of the map. Run to the right and you will arrive at the trading post. Here you want to sell Silk. This trading post sells Medicine at a very cheap price so buy as much as you can while you are here. Now we’re off to find the map piece. First, walk to the right until you arrive at a house with the hanging baskets. Jump up and touch the one on the right, then the one on the left, and finally the one in the middle. The map piece will appear. If you go inside Willard’s Warehouse to the left, you can find the Cargo Master crew member. When he is with you, your ship can carry 50% more cargo than without him. Since this is your first trip around the islands, you probably won’t have enough doubloons to hire him just yet, but try to hire him as soon as you can because with him you’ll get money a lot faster. Don’t forget to make sure you bought the Medicine cargo from the trading post because you’ll want to sell it at the next port.
Now it’s time to leave and sail to the next island, Parrot Port, which is south of Bouffant Bay. Sell your salvage and cargo, but there is no cargo to cheaply purchase here. Head inside Petey’s Pirate Pub and you’ll find the Navigator. When you hire her she increases the speed of your ship, but if this is your first trip around the islands, she’s too expensive to hire for now. Get the cracker that you’ll locate upstairs on the left inside the pub. Walk outside and return to the Trading Post. Here you’ll see a Parrot and you should click on him. It will tell you to dunk yourself in the sea and come back to find it. When you do, it wants you to block some smoke, which refers to the nearby chimney you can stand on. After the smoke stops, jump into the palm tree to the right to find the parrot. He’ll then tell you to find a pirate he knows in the old tower. Go to the old tower near the dock and you’ll find the pirate up top. He’ll tell you that if you can return the parrot to him he will give you a reward. Use the cracker to lure him back to the tower, where the pirate gives you the map piece.

The next stop is Golden Harbor, which is the island in the lower-right corner of the map. It’s surrounded by treacherous rocks so be careful when you go and pick up any salvage you can along the way. If you visit the bank, you can take out a loan that gives you more money to purchase more cargo and earn profits much faster. You can obtain a loan of doubloons from the back that costs 5% interest each day days go by each time you sail to a new port and you have to repay the loan within 20 days. As with all the other islands, there’s a hidden piece of the map here. To get it, you need to figure out how to light three lanterns outside. It can be tricky because each time you light one lantern, certain others go out. The specific order is to get the lantern on the far right first the fifth lantern. Then get the third lantern, followed by the fourth one. Finally, get the second and then finally the first lantern far left. The map piece appears in a draped archway. We’re almost ready to sail on but before you go, visit the trading post and purchase as much grain as you can.
Next, embark for the Pirate Outpost, which is due West of Golden Harbor and dock your ship. Sell your grain and buy Spice, which is cheap here. Climb up the giant skull, jumping over hostile pirates. In the cannon shack is the Cannoneer, who you may wish to hire later. At the top of the mast is a “cannon starter kit” fuses, which will fire any of the four cannons on the outpost. Push the small barrel of explosives off the mast and into the water below. Jump down into the water and push the barrel to the right until it’s underneath the golden tooth in the giant skull. Run back to the left and click on the cannon to fire it. The cannonball will hit the barrel of explosives, which will blow up. The explosion will shake the gold tooth and the hidden map piece will fall out.
The Circular Trade Path: Sail back to Dragon Cove, directly up, and sell your Spice there. Keep going in this circular clockwise direction from port to port to build your profits so that you can purchase bigger ships and hire more crew. You do not have to stick to this route, but it is definitely the most efficient and the fastest way to earn lots of doubloons quickly in the game. On each loop through, if you have enough money to upgrade your ship, do it at the shipbuilders. Bigger ships have bigger holds for carrying more cargo. That means you’ll earn more profits very quickly.

When you have the largest class of ship, the Phoenix Warbird, and the skilled Cannoneer, you are more than a match for any ship, even Captain Crawfish. When you’re ready to fight Captain Crawfish, sail down to Skullduggery Island in the lower left section of the map and he’ll turn up for battle. You should be able to beat him as long as you have the Phoenix Warbird and the cannoneer. The ship repair guy from Dragon Cove can be a huge help too!

After you sink his ship and defeat him, return to Fort Ridley and visit the Governor’s Mansion. The governor gives you a bone shovel, which you need to dig up treasure, and he shows you exactly where to find it on Skullduggery Island. Travel to the island and dig at the mound 6 paces right of the Black Flag. After the treasure is out of the hole, you will be surprised by Captain Crawfish and his crew, and a spy who posed as an aide to the Governor. Unfortunately, there is no final battle with Crawfish.Fortunately, your crew arrives just in the nick of time and captures Crawfish and his pirates. You then return to Fort Ridley to return the treasure to the island. As a reward, the Governor gives you the island medallion and you’ve finished the quest.
